Conversion Lens Adapter Do you leave it on?

Just wondering how many of you keep the lens adapter on the lens as a safety. Does it block the on camera flash? I want to use the LA-DC58D lens adapter and keep it on the body of the G6.

I leave it on. But then, I dont use the onboard flash (have a 380EX for when I need a flash). The adapter also blocks the viewfinder - grrr.

Yes, at wide it blocks the built-in flash. I've saved (through trial and error) a setting in one of the custom settings (C1 or C2) a zoom which is the widest without seeing a darkening in the corner. But as my G5 doesn't quantify zoom settings I can't tell you what that is.. (boo)

I leave my lens adapter on all the time for safety too with a proper lens cap (don't know about the G6 but the G5 has a slipon cap which is good for saving the lens in case you switch on inadvertently but too many times I've reached into my bag to find it come off and my beloved lens exposed to my detritus.

Perhaps if you shot a picture with the saved settings you will be able to read the actual focal length in the EXIF data.

23mm is the actual focal length.

But as there is no way of telling your focal length without downloading and checking EXIF, I would take photos of a blank wall progressively zooming from tele to wide until you see the shadow.
