I think you're going to have a hard time sending this one back! Nice shots!
I see you like landscapes or nature. Do yourself a favor and push this lense to the limits so you can see how fast and sharp it is. I tested mine with my dogs running. I set it on multiple frames and turned on the image stabilizer then just shot away. It's awesmome.

All of these except number 7 were shot with the 70-200 2.8 IS and Canon 1.4x T-con. Very happy with the results, minimal loss of IQ. Most of these are pretty decent crops as well.

Lolz I'm going back to grammar school in Sept..

But like I've heard in this forum that this lens is being discontinued or something. Is Canon going to give it an update making it a Mk II version of this lens or what?

I love it.. its kinda like a Vin Diesel as a dog.

There is no "official word" that this lens is being discontinued. Rumors are just rumors and nothing else, and that especially goes for lenses.

shooting a scene in a kitchen tonight.....am worried all the stainless steel so wont use any lights, so was thinking to use the 70-200mm but mine is NON IS what settings would you recommend to start of on? considering most kitchens are quite well liut but with tube lights.

any tips guys? ive just got this lens and dint have enough time to play with it yet

Will you be shooting hand-held? If I was doing something important indoors I myself would use a tripod, in which case shutter speed would not be a factor unless people or animals were involved. I'd concentrate more on aperture settings for depth of field considerations.

Shooting hand-held would be a different matter -- you'll need a high ISO with a wide aperture to get a reasonably fast shutter speed, and work in the wider end of your focal length to minimize the visible affects of any camera shake.

So, what's it gonna be? And, will you be shooting a scene or smaller subjects?

Wouldn't usually think of this lens as "wide angle" but when the other rig you're shooting that day is a MkIII + 300 f/2.8 + 1.4X then 70mm on a 5D Classic works just fine:

Looking at this image it doesn't look anything out of the ordinary but all the trees and the foliage in the background was actually the reflections from the water. 30sec shutter speed.

Bill Dan (http://www.flickr.com/photos/rocker/3584191469/) is the master of rock balancing. I came across his flickr site and thought I'd have a go at it.

This was one of my first attempts. I've others, but those have been shot with a lens other than the one of this themed thread.

Thanks. It was 0.3sec, f/3.5 ISO400 @ 95mm. I had my 580ex II in a silver umbrella for main light and one Vivitar 285HV direct for back light.
