I saw a wonderful chance for a photograph (sunset in Florida) so I ran to the car for my camera but when I returned I just couldn't find a pleasing frame with the mangroves.
I'm interested to know what your thoughts on this photo are.

Shot with my newly acquired D30!
Thank you
BTW, let me know if the image doesn't show.

I might have shot from a lower angle, in effect "tightening" the mangrove branches up closer to the fisherman, and perhaps also arrange the horizon so it didn't run right through the middle of the photo. While I think rules are sometimes for breaking, the rule of thirds in photographs generally works. Don't put the subjects or things like the horizon right in the middle of the photo, but at the thirds. Just some thoughts.

lazyG, I don't think the mangroves are a hindrance, more a help as they frame the fisherman perfectly. Were the bones biting?

Doesn't do a whole lot for me. There is an orange sky (not very intersting), a fisherman and mangroves (out of focus). It's hard to comment though. I'm sure the view in real life was great, it just doesn't show here. NExt time shoot a whole lot more and try to pic the best.
