Hi,

I read a thread by Pekka in dpreview about colour space and canon digital cameras (with no imbedded profiles like G2). Now I’m using PS6.01 under win ME and I have an Epson Stylus Photo 750.
He wrote in this thread that he disabled all colour management to get good results.

In PS6 I’ve set under Print options “output” instead of colour management. I suppose this does mean the picture is sent without any profile (nothing is added in PS6). Under "Colour settings" + "Advanced Mode" I have several options:

1. The Working Space
For RGB:I choose Monitor sRGB61966-2.1 (the same as for the Adobe Gamma settings)
This makes my picture look ok but when printed they are too dark (Pekka wrote that the for the Epson 750 Gamma x1.2 must be added)
So I choose “Epson 750 Stylus Photo”. This makes my picture looking overexposed, but the printing is right.
I could also choose “Epson sRGB Colour Space”

2. Embedded profiles
I set not to preserve the original profiles which can’t be wrong here.

3. Now when printing, I still have to choose “Print space”
It’s set to “Printer colour management”. I could also set it to “Epson Stylus 750” But what will change?

4. In the printer driver settings I always set to “Photo Paper” and “Custom” with “No Colour adjustment”.
(“Photo Glossy” produces with Epson Photo Glossy Paper reddish skin tones).

Now I don’t know all this works together, trying out all the possibilities would cost a lot of money in paper and ink (and time).

Perhaps Pekka or somebody with similar hard- and software could help me out.

Thanks in advance,

Gerard
