Great effect, I learnt that one at college last night, always wondered how that technique was achieved!!

i might have dropped the saturation a tad on the colored layer. but i think it loods good as is for sure

Image has good impact. You might experiment a bit and crop tighter removing the shadow area in the top and top left of the image... it seemed to me to be a bit disctracting... good job, Dennis

I can see a few places (namely the front of his left knee, the back of his right knee, the top of his hat [where there is gray and there shouldn't be] and the back of his neck/upper shoulders) where you can still see some of the original color, but it's still good. I would've corrected the color balance to get rid of the orange-ish color cast too, but that's just me. Good first try though! :)
