Me and my equally daft mate decided that a hike to the top of Snowdon in February would be a really good photo oppertunity......six hours later, frozen to the core and soaked through to the skin, we returned with some ok shots. Still, felt much better after some nice warm late and a cream scone!

Which route to the top did you use ? I recommend Crib Goch - by the time you reach the summit you're so scared that you've forgotten about the cold and rain . . . . :(

ha ha we were considering that route but with the freezing fog and strong winds, well not even we were that bonkers! Maybe Ill take that route when the fine welsh weather perks up a bit. We went up the pig track, the big girls blous route!

Pyg track is a great route - you get a fantastic ( and safe ! ) view of the lakes. Crib Goch is well worth doing, but only once - I certainly won't be doing it again in a hurry :o

I will definitely have a go at Crib Goch, I'm scared of heights and I like a challenge! Im hoping to do the three peaks challenge sometime in june but I think I'll take the easy route then to conserve some energy. It's going to be so hard to climb those beautiful places and not have time to take photographs though!

Nice images. The B&W one is my fav.

ooooh Crib Goch is great fun, the fact that you're so exposed with sheer drops either side or the knife edge ridge is immense.
The B&W is the pick for me too :)

Thanks everyone. As you can see, I'm new to landscapes and I've already learned that you have to know exactly what you're doing even before you set off in order to get anywhere near some of the fantastic shots you can see around the forum. I'll keep on trying, although anything I come up with will probably be more down to luck than technique.

hmmmm... that sounds perfectly reasonable to me. But then again my cousin and I are seriously thinking of buying snow shoes to get some of the shots up north that we can't even begin to get to because the snow would be over are heads if we tried...a couple of nice captures. I like the color one better... Sari.
