Hi Fellow Canonites,

Just got my G2 in the mail today. Was really excited and opened the UPS packing. The box in which the camera comaes was not sticker sealed or wrapped in any kind of thin plastic wrapping. The contents inside look fine, and also the camera.

SO wanted to find out whether the box is sealed in any fashion or Canon just ships it that way.

Any replies greatly appreciated.

Regards,

K Smith

They should, but they don't.

(First time I've used one of those angry red faced icons!)

No they are not sealed. This made me very unhappy when I bought mine from Circuit City. I bought it close to closing time and never thought to check the contents. When I got home I found only the camera, strap, battery pack, and AV cable. No CF card, no battery charger, no USB cable, no remote control!!!!! The LCD monitor was smudged with fingerprints as well.

Circuit City did give me an exchange and an apology but it has made me think twice about shopping there again.

Canon really should seal these boxes.

I just bought a new “grey” market (imported to US by a dealer, in this case from Germany) Canon 2X mk II telextender and it came in a sealed box!

I guess the German branch of Canon is sealing their boxes. Lets hope it catches on.

Santa bought my G2 at Canada's Future Shop -- a retail chain tghat was purchased last
year by Best Buy.

It's box was plastic wrapped and contained both English and French
language instruction booklets.

Hi,

Yes, it's the same over here in the UK! The box should IMHO be sealed but they are not. I've had mine since October and it's been running without any problems whatsoever.

Cheers,
Barry
