LOVE laser metallic blue, and blue in general is my favorite color.

It has a lot of emotion... don't you wonder what the circumstances around the accident were, or what is going through the drivers mind. Additionally, the framing and DoF is pretty much perfect. The crashed car is a bit out of focus, but in focus enough that you can see it, probably how it looks in the drivers head... Just my take...

The helmet BEHIND him in the grass... like it's just tossed there... useless. It's what I don't see that does it for me. You can't see the drivers face. I can only imagine how pissed he is... or maybe he's totally calm about it since he's been through this before. Who knows.

I just messed around a bit in LR with split tones/color temp/saturation.. took me a bit to get this desired look. Just basically a lot of playing around with levels until I got the look I wanted.

I've used the 1.8 and I now own the 50mm 1.2L. I got it for a HUGE discount that I could not refuse, knowing that I'd probably be able to sell it and the profit would pay for the 50mm 1.4.

Now in my area I've found a 1.4 that I can buy tonight for $350. How much of a difference will I notice from the 1.2L to the 1.4 do you think? I'm sure the 1.4 is way better than the 1.8. I almost just don't even like to carry the 1.2 around because it's so valuable and heavy and it only gets you that one extra stop.

Thanks for any input any of you have.

Edit: Now I see there is a thread about this going on in the next forum step up from this one. No need to reply to my question here but if you do I'll read it.

If you got it for a huge deal, why not just hang onto it for a while and use it? It is definitely NOT going to depreciate in value and you will always be able to find good deals on the 1.4.

I almost NEVER shoot wide open with this lens because I do not have any ND filters for use with my strobes, I need to get them, this lens is sharp as hell and even wide open delivers the goods, heres a wide open shot of my dog, natural light

^^^ Love the simplicity - it's usually the best way! :D...Great shot and loving the sunset. The only thing that bothers me is the harsh shadow under the jaw - hard to avoid I guess with the bare speedlight.

Being lazy is a poor excuse...pp is definitely needed! I suggest some healing/cloning + liquify tool to make your model look gorgeous! :p :lol:

The 50 1.4 had been pretty neglected of late so yesterday decided to slap that on and not take any other lens with me.

A couple taken around evening time in the crazy busy part of Mong Kok district in Hong Kong where all the local and tourists go to - all at the same time at that.

1. Shopping for sports shoes in the world famous "street of sports shoes"

More with the 50 1.4. This is my first B&W series so some C&C would be appreciated.

Following on from the Mongkok street series posted earlier. These were taken in the adjoining district of Yaumatei - home of the famous Temple Street Night Market. A place for trinkets, sex toys, street music, food stalls, aged and not so aged whores and tons of visitors.

This lens is great and you'll be glad you got it. Fast reliable and great IQ. Great for a walk around lens also, especially on a FF.

i agree, i never really liked 50mm on crops, just to tight...on FF its just wide enough

i've been shooting with the 7d as of late because of the more reliable focusing that I get compared to my 5d, but today I used it with the 5d for my daughter's birthday trip to the zoo and man I forgot how much better it felt on a full frame camera.
