Edit: Just did the conversion of Celsius to Fahrenheit... 53 degrees Celsius would be good for warming up food. 23 degrees Celsius is warm enough. :)

Agreed. Very nice - In this case the soft focus on her face and the empahsis on the cool colors with her eyes is perfect :)

There should be a rule for no lens pr0n on here!! :D
Been wanting that lens for a long time now, but cannot justify such a big price change between that and a non-L 100mm macro.

Been wanting that lens for a long time now, but cannot justify such a big price change between that and a non-L 100mm macro.

Oh I agree on both points. It's not mine. I wish It was. I ordered it for a friend who needed it before his tax return was available.

But I had to take it out of the box and INSPECT IT to make sure it was 'ok'. And it made a great prop for the 50mm.:cool::cool:

Thanks! I did use OCF, but I believe the shadow looking thing behind the wings are blur.

Perfect! Indeed the 50 1.4 and 35L 1.4 are both tremendous lenses with their own qualities. The 35L is considerably more durable, but I use both pretty frequently. Sometimes the very low profile of the 50 1.4 is great for candid street photography without alarming people.

I've had it for about a week and so far so good. Focus for me is spot on and I love that extra stop!

I usually keep the hood on at all times and have a UV filter for it. It will be a considerable step up in quality from the f/1.8.

^^^ Great shots! This lens really shines on the full frame. I am picking up a 5D MKII tomorrow actually. I can't wait to put this lens on and enjoy it the way it was meant to be finally.

Thanks! I tried it before on my T1i and I must say it is way better on the 5DII (as every lens is). I still prefer the 35L and I know it would've done better job on that wedding.

So when I started shooting weddings I found out about a Mexican tradition where the guys carry the groom to the bathroom and help him take off ALL his clothes, then they take them to the bride and she goes to the bathroom to help him get dressed again :D It's quite fun, but probably not that much for the groom hehehe
