Well, OhGAWD, I did it.

Ordered the 10D from B&H today, along with the 550 flash – of course didn't make that order until later — after I read here that my 540 EZ will not work. :-(

Also bought a set of the Kenko extenstion tubes, the Mack warranty, and a Velbon macro slider for macro work, what else?! Now I am contemplating the novoflex reverse thingy - or perhaps just the male to male adaptor ring, which is a WHOLE lot cheaper than the novoflex.

I already have the following EOS lenses, 24/f2.8, 100 f2, 80-200 f2.8, 50 f1.4 and a 300 f4

I think I will need a wider angle. We have the 17-40 zoom at work I may try out.

I think I have a stomach ache.

Thanks all! I am SO excited. Now that I have done it I want it NOW. Or at least by tomorrow...looks like I'll have to wait until Wednesday. Waiting is good. Makes one stronger... right?

RedShoesGirl,

WOOOHOOOO!! Welcome to the land of 10D. Well while you wait you could download the manual and read up on some stuff.

Glad you made the decision, I know you will love it as I do. The best choice I made this year.

No, waiting sucks. But if you wait, it goes away.

Download the manual??? Don't tell me this is one of those things that doesn't come with a hard copy manual! I am tired of downloading the dumb things, printing then out and then having them bound!

A manual comes with it, dont worry. i think they were suggesting you download it so you are one step ahead when you receive it.

Honestly, though, you are going to have to charge the batteries when you get it so you will have approximately 1.5 hours to do the reading you need to do to get started.

Like you, I finally jumped in and ordered the 10D and a 28-135 USM IS lens.
It will probably arrive in a few days, Sydney NS is a small town, and every thing comes from the big city Toronto.
From what I hear, some are having focusing problem with 10D. Is this a valid concern? Also I have concerns about a lens. Nova Scotia is a beautiful country, with mountains and streams, it will be a sin if I cold not capture a panaroma of this Gods country. What should my next lens?. My purpose of making this purchase was to capture my grand children and my island (Cape Breton), both very precious things.

Thank you! And yes I do like the macro stuff. Rather new and unexplored territory for me, insects at least. Been doing the flower thing for awhile, but I saw some macro bugs that were just fabulous and so figured I could explore that area of photography. I love my lenses! Took several years to get all that wanted but I am very happy. I do like fast primes.

Thanks also for the emoticon help. We are understanding now. ??? :) :D

msvirick: The focus problem has been resolved by Canon, but there stil may some earlier cams on the shelves. Definitely check it as soon as you get it. Post some samples here if you're not sure.

It seems that a few have problems but Canon is working to replace those. Just a few mind you, but a couple of very vocal people have been a bit more than upset while TONS of shooters have been very happy.
