oh i know they are the same company, but audi makes more expensive, more exclusive and more luxury cars, most VWs ar common and affordable.

Ach, but Audi calls their wagons "Avants" -- which is a French word, so go figure!
And regarding those V-Dub Phaetons... they sold about 5 of them in the U.S., so regardless of how luxo they are, us 'mericans aren't buying the idea -- or the cars!

The Phateon was tested to run at 180mph until the tank runs dry, in the desert, to make sure that the air conditioning would still work.
Then the car was restricted to 155 Mph.
That's why you buy a german car ;)
Nice Avant. Hope it's not a diesel though :D

That's what it's all about - exclusivity.
If you want to have an even more exclusive car, you'd have to go for the W8 Passat version ... can't believe they succeeded in selling even 5 of these :lol:

Couldn't agree more here. Being able to run 155 mph on an empty tank is truly a remarkable feature.
Other than that, I like the shot, but the car looks more like the A4 wagon to me.

Heh german cars, my 1995 civic is 255 000 and stil running...I have difficulties finding a Jetta with a same mileage and year to compare,beacuse there is not many left running.But lets go back to the topic.
Nice picture.....
And that factory is unreal! GREAT PRODUCTIVITY no wonder they cost that much :)

well before the avant i had a 1992 w201 2.6 at around 220k and it was still running like a champ till somebody crashed into the front fender rendering it totalled.
