I finally took the plunge! As some of you may know, I have a Powershot A80, and then recently got a not-so appealing Kodak that I had to resell. But JUST tonight, I bought the S2 IS I've been dreaming about for one heck of a deal! I'm thrilled! I do hope its everything I am wanting. This camera is mostly for outdoor use and taking pictures of my horses, I practically live behind a camera, I think this camera is going to be very pleasing!
Just wanted to share my excitement with other Canon fans :)

Can someone tell me if I can use my powershot a80 memory card in it? It says Compact Flash card, FC-32M

I dont think so. It requires a SD card. Also, you may want to take a look at lensmateonline.com for S2 IS accessories, specially the adapter and some polarizers (as you are going to do a lot of shooting in the sun), NDs, UV (for protection).
There are some excellent tips which are made sticky in this forum on S2 tips on usage.
Happy clicking.

Ok, so where is the cheapest place to buy an SD card? I don't shoot on the highest quality settings and per session I can take 100-200 photos. I never really use the video settings, or up close settings. So I dont need a HUGE card. I'd like to spend under $30 for it if I can, since I also want to get polarizers. Thanks!! *So excited*

Definately very good advice here. The S2 IS is a very cabable camera, but good results will come with time. Spend 6 months on here learning and practicing with all the different settings and you'll be taking wonderful photos in no time.
More advice to you is as soon as you get your S2 turn it out of Auto over to one of the Manual modes. It'll be tough at first but your pictures will be much better in the long run after you can profiently use them.

Have to agree with Diminished29 the S2 is cabable of better shots than the auto settings will give you.

As far as the sd card goes, try B&H photo. They seem to have good prices on cards. I got my 1 gig ultra 2 for around $90. But there are cheaper cards which are slower and smaller.

Most office and "big box" electronics stores (Staples, Circuit City, Best Buy, etc.) have good prices on SD cards when rebates are in effect. If you're not near one, they all have online shopping. Buy.com is another place that always has something on sale. I'd suggest getting at least a 512 Meg SD card or two...memory is pretty cheap these days.
Enjoy the S2!
