These was the results of a shoot I did @ the Hopetoun hotel in Surry Hills, Sydney. Its a very small pub that features local bands seven nights a week. This was a random night out for me to try out some bands that appealed. This is a great way to develop your craft as a music photographer. If you can shoot in a small venue like the Hopetoun you can shoot just about anywhere.

It's a *very* small room. Thanks for the compliment! :D

Angus, I see your very sensitive style in these but am a bit surprised there are no closeups. And I agree, shoulder to shoulder in the casino and your images would look as good or better than mine! :-)

Thanks for the feedback Dwight. I really need to push myself for some different compositions I think because the more I see of my work, the more I see a consistent pattern which I need to expand.

As for shooting together... Maybe we'll one day have the opportunity to shoot along side one another, I think that would be a lot of fun!

I LOVE the sensitivity I always feel in your images ... I don't know what it is you do that makes the images feel intimate, as though I can smell the tattoos and sweat, but it is awesome! But, yes, I sometimes think you are in a bit of a rut and I would like to see variety, particularly some headshots where we can see the texture of her lips and fur on her tongue ... well, you get the idea anyway. :-)

Nice intimate shots Angus from a tough venue.
