Suzie & I have been swapping posts on RAW workflow. Right now we're talking about a session of several hours shooting, then pulling out the laptops and seeing what goes on in post-processing with various suites.
I use Downloader Pro to ttransfer files and set IPTC data on the shots (embedded captions, copyright, etc.) and Raw Shooter Professional for RAW-JPEG/TIF conversion. If I need to do any more editing, I use Paint Shop Pro (not often; I prefer to avoid major edits). I've got all this on a laptop to accompany.

I'd think a good site for this would be one where we can set up together (lunch, coffee, or whatever) after a morning shoot nearby and share our workflows. If you don't have a laptop but would be interested, it's quite possible one or another of us will have the same software. Or you may see something you'd like to try.

I'm booked the weekends of Feb. 25-26 (PA Horse Expo) and Mar. 4-5 (Ann's birthday - ignore at my peril). After that (and we may want a bit of time to organize and equip), Mar. 25, 31-Apr. 1, and May 6 are currently out.

I will look at my calendar and see if I'm clear. Sounds like a plan.

Sounds cool, guys.

Lately I've been getting my money's worth with ACDSee, but pull out Photoshop when I need a little extra control. Mostly I adjust levels/curves, but other than that it's just cropping.

As far as places to meet up, DC and Georgetown are good places to shoot, then break out the laptops at Dean and Deluca or the Philladelphia Cheesesteak Factory on M street afterwards? :) There is an abundance of wildlife and scenery on the Arlington side of the Potomac, over by Roosevelt Island for example. Where did you guys have in mind? If I can get a kitchen pass for a few hours one weekend I'd love to join you all.

LOL - I have a great boyfriend - no kitchen pass required. I use Photoshop, but would enjoy seeing what others use and how they use it. My schedule is all mixed up with work, but I will try to make it.

Didn't have anywhere in particular in mind. Down along the Canal or GW Parkway would work. Main thing is to have outlets available for the laptops after.
