Here are just a few shots I took at a show a few months ago. The area was so cramped I almost had to fight through people to get a decent angle so they aren't the best shots in the world, but I'd like your opinion on them. :)

Are you able to crop some out of the top of the first one? Whereas I love the black and white with the spot of color I think this took away from the focus of the photo. I really like the second one of Acey! Yeah I know who that is. I missed them when they came through here mainly because of not wanting to have to deal with someone that worked for one of the other bands on the bill... I sometimes shoot at a venue that has no barricade and a very low stage so it's difficult to get shots.. and when you do get shots, you don't get all of the person.

Artsy stuff like selective color distract from the artistry of the band for me. I very much like the color of the second image as well as its energy. All the bold lettering in the last is a bummer! I understand that it was tough conditions.

I agree with Dwight's comments. Also, I would not use flash, or at least drag the shutter, too see some available light. (use ISO 1600, fully opened aperture, shuttertimes up to 1/4s)
The batteries of the flash will also last longer at high iso/open aperture ;)
