Hello,

I have been working with Sigma EF500S on D30 with ST-E2 for remote flash triggering. Now I have switched to Metz but afaik, ST-E2 no longer works with this flash. Could anyone tell me if there is a way to work ST-E2 togther with this flash unit or there is another accessory for Metz?

TIA.

I did not think that the ST-E2 will "talk" to anything but a Canon 550EX or 420EX.

Is there anything in your Metz user manual that says that it will "listen" to the Canon ST-E2?

Bob, not exactly. ST-E2 has been talking well with Sigma EF500S and EF500S DG -- well, they are essentially Canon 550EX clones.

Humm, let me see...nope, nothing mentioned in the manual and that is why I am asking if there is any way that they can talk to each other.

The Canon ST-E2 does NOT work with any Metz flash. Metz has a proprietery system of their own.
I use the Metz 54 in TTL mode and set my Canon 1D or 10D to "M"anual with the shutter at 100 and the arpeture at f4 or f5.6 for great results.
If I need a studio setup I use the ST-E2 on camera and a pair of 550s with umbrellas.
This works for me.

Thanks Bob. May be I should stick with my off-cord remote 2 fttb. :)

BTW, should I sell my ST-E2?
