8) I just bought my first digital camera, a Canon G5, and in my search for guidance I stumbled on this place. It seems just like what I need so I thought I'd better introduce myself before I a start asking dumb question. :p

He-he! Thanks. I feel a little bewildered because the last week I've realized that digital photography is nothing like film photography! :p

I'm not used to graphic editing either, more than fixing and optimizing web graphics... :(

I found breezbrowser and their downloader anyway and that was a great improvement over Canon's software. :)

Welcome to this great forum. You can learn about all the software you need, and some you don't. Post some of your first images on Share and get your feet wet. When in doubt, or need some criticism to keep your (wet) feet on the ground, post a photo to Critique. Respond to others and you'll become a forum favorite in no time. A wealth of knowledge, experience and support awaits you here. I visit daily, and more than once!

Welcome to the forum and a great 1st purchase!! I bought a G2 last August and joined this forum, with help and advice by many great enthusiasts Ive really enjoyed my new found hobby even more. I took 10,000 pics with my G2 before I upgraded!!
