Can you find the seagulls in the both pics? - Ok, this is not nature and animals forum, so just enjoy.

(Taken already February 2004 - it's a long, lonly nite, with no new pics, so forgive me this dusting of old archives.)

on the lamppost to the left... on the middle round light thingy in the second... don't ya love Seattle?? One of my favorite places to go. Great pics, that dark cloud to the left on the first one looks a tad bit out of place... Sari.

Is there a flock of them peering out from behind the curtains on the 10th floor, fourth window to the right of the tall building?

Nice shots Olli, you certainly seem to be well travelled.

You got the first price :D I was not able to see that much of Seattle, but that already convinced me that it must be one of the best places in US.

About the dark cloud ... I somehow like it, it is so Seattle-like ;)

Nice cityscapes Olli, but ofcours the first one wins (far better sky).

A picture is old only for the person who took it.;)

A picture is old only for the person who took it.;)That is well said Dimitiri! I have noted a tendency that many (most?) of the pictures are less than two days old in these Forums - but it really doesn't matter.

Thanks Marie. As this was posted from the hotel in Beijing this week, I guess the better film to describe the situation would be 'Lost in Translation'. :D

To be honest with you,i have so many images (prossesed and not) that by the time i`m finished with them they are monts old.
But,does it make any difference ?;)
A superb image is always a superb image, its not milk that has to be served fresh,is it ?

A superb image is always a superb image, its not milk that has to be served fresh,is it ?... and I enjoy browsing through the old ones. There are always hidden gems I haven't noticed before. That's why I do not easily delete any picture after first look, second or third time might reveal something new.

Often we right off photos from the past but as our skills increse we can "rescue" some of those photos as well as see how far we have come. I often go back to a spot and reshoot it, and look at them side by side.
Other people also notice things I dont in my photos.

Nice cityscapes Olli, but ofcours the first one wins (far better sky). Now sky re-made :D with free Ulead Particle.Plugin. (http://www.ulead.com/download/freeparticle/download.htm) (And this is a very modest one in shades of grey. I had a couple of much wilder ones, but they did not fit to the mood of the picture.)

very nice addition
I see the curly branches here too
somehow I see them better now, maybe because of the change which you made with the sky background

The sky looks great. Too often a big flat gray sky ruins the image.

I like that alot

gives the buildings a glow
and makes the overall appearance look as though the sky is racing past
