Took the family to the National Aquarium in Baltimore MD. Feel free to CC these picks.

Thanks!

#1 -good shot, but I wish the background had a little more contrast, and I'm not crazy about the crop off of the tail. Perhaps you could saturate the color just a tad more to good effect?

#2 - just a typical snapshot.

#3 - I think this shot would be so much better if the focus were on the bird's head instead of the near side of his body. Maybe try isolating the head in PS and sharpening just that portion of the photo?

Yeah, I wasn't happy the way the tail and the leg didn't make it into the frame.

The second picture I thought was good because I usually don't get great available light shots inside. But this one I think turned out well.

And I'm surprised that the DOF on the bird is so shallow. I guess because the lens was wide open. I should have stopped down and used a fill flash.

Anyway, thanks for the comments.

Sharpened

Ran the sharpen tool at 125 (which is pretty low) in the Digital Photo Pro software that came with the XT. I think it looks a little better. You might want to play around with the filters in Photoshop and see what you can do.

How's this. I selected just the head and neck, feathered a bit and applied a dose of USM.

Looks great. Really saves the shot, and doesn't oversharpen the branch like mine did.

Good shots of the aquarium. It's tough sometimes to get clear shots in that place.

Yes, those are really good shots given the lighting conditions. Nicely done.

I like the last one that you posted - you can almost feel the texture in his skin.
