hi
after a few months of use i have noticed my first specks of dust on my 10d pictures
has anyone cleaned the sensor themselves yet, what did you use and how did you get on?
my problem is not too bad yet so i am not desperate to get into the camera but i had better look at it soon before it ruins a shot that i cant fix too well in PS7
thanks

Well I had to, and it wasn't that bad of a task at all. I had just one speck of dust, and I used on of those rubber blowers to get rid of it. Dust all gone..

Was that a rubber bulb type blower with small brush on the end? I've been holding off on trying anything like that. Just nervous though I guess.

I wouldn't use the blower brush. I don't think the brushes stay clean enough to use them on lens glass or the sensor.
I've some info and links on cleaning:

I did use the one with the brush, very lightly, and as I said, it was easy and very effective.

I have cleaned mine twice. Once I had Canon do it and once I did it myself. The dude from Canon here suggested that you shouldn't put a brush to the sensor. I live in a city where the Canon service center is about 5 minutes from where I live, it's easy for me. I pop in and am out in about 10 mintues.
