... is a movie (http://www.miramax.com/anunfinishedlife/) I just finished on a plane flying from Beijing to Copenhagen. (This surfing in the clouds is addicting.)

I found this move VERY photogenic (hope this is the right expression) and not only because of Jennifer Lopez. I wonder if our members from Wyoming feels the same. Lot of close-ups, and country scenes.

It was at the end of the movie I learned that the director was Lars (Lasse) Hallström (http://www.lassehallstrom.com/index.php?x=files/bio), one of the great movie makers in the world. I was lucky to select this movie, just by chance.

I have no idea if any Canon gear was used when making this movie (or if Canon makes any movie gear??), but still for the benefit of our photo loving society, I felt I need to post this experience.

I travel the western United States quite a bit, and am always in awe of its beauty. Although I suspect when you live in a place for a while complacence sets in and you may not stop to notice the landscape. Although, almost every evening in my southwest desert home the surrounding rocky hills just glow with with a rich warm light, and I am often drawn outside to watch the specticle for a good 10 minutes or so untill the warmth fades. Am I that unique? Certainly not. But I do think I am in a minority.

You may want to check out the movie Legends of the Fall (Sir Anthony Hopkins, Brad Pitt) came out in the early 90's. It captures a lot of the beauty and enormity of the American northwest, Montana, I think. (Not a bad movie either)

The attached photo was taken just a short distance from my back door.

Travis, you may not be unique, but sure you are lucky to live next to such beauty. Also the picture you have posted proofs both what you mentioned about the surroundings as well as the skills you have as photographer.

I haven't seen the movie you mentioned, but I do my best to find it. If you like it, it must be worth to see.

being a neighbor of Wyoming and Montana I know that the beauty in this part of the country really is incredible. It's true that folks become used to it and stop noticing... but, i'm not one of them. Perhaps because of my photography but i'm always looking at what's around me. I didn't see the movie your talking about. But i'll be sure to check it out when I go to the video store....
