canon a610 problem

hi i have the canon a610 camera. i just bought it last week and now when i go to take a picture there are a bunch of lines on the lcd screen and when i press the shutter button the picture is of those same lines. does anyone kno what this could be from?

is your grid lines off?

are these lines on the actual picture when you download them to your computer? If they are, it sounds like a sensor or lense issue, if not then it might be you have some dead or damaged pixels on your lcd screen on the camera.
