This is my first post, we came across a pair of male elk and one of them had a horizontal rack...how normal or abnormal is this? Using 200-500mm Tamron Lens

Welcome to the forum. A great composition and colors. It does seem a little soft on focus however. It appears the focal point is in the neck region rather than the head and eyes. What was your EXIF data?

Thats a great catch of a non-typical bull elk. Could be that he has had some sort of injury, that will stunt antler growth. If you have more shots, please share.
