I know this is a photosharing section, but was looking to get a little advice...

A Friend of mine had his car repainted, and wants me to take some photos of the paint for his lawsuit, from what I've heard its pretty bad.

I'm thinking all I should really need is polarizer to cut the glare back, so I can get the blemishes to come out, The car is Silver.

any input would be greatly appreciated.

Yes a polariser would help with reflections - use a tripod if you can to get max depth of field. Use really low angles to emphasise the problem

e.g. (my best company car after me misjudging where a post was.. )

You could also try using a black or white card to reflect in the paint to see if it gives useable results. One or the other should make the defects stand out.

(Nice avatar, joeseph!) ;)

You like it? I inherited it a couple of months ago - there's something about having a camera that's older than I am (and it's in better nick...)

Yeah, I get so tired of hearing people measurebating this & that obscure "quality" & I look & they haven't posted a pic in weeks! The cam takes the pic, but the guy behind it "makes it". <End of Rant>. :D
