As far as I know it's not possible. (Never tried either though - the whole idea of overriding my own setting seems a little goofy:))

No, that is not possible to compensate in M-mode, but they may refer to it as the pictures was underexposed by 2/3. Now that i find to be strange since its a pretty white scene and therefore with an -2/3 the white wouldnt be that white, it should be more like grey than white.

Also, downloading the RAW-file and viewing it with Canon fileview, tells that there is no such thing as an exposure compensation (wich we already knew).

Yes, is a mistake. I've checked this particular RAW file with Canon Viewer and BreezeBrowser, and I can't find the -2/3 EV value anywhere. Probably they've copied the table from another picture, and forgot to delete the EV data. Exposure info is OK.
There is no EV comp in manual, and even when the camera is still doing exposure mettering (and saying you if you are under or overexposed) this info is not recorded in the RAW file (at least I can't find it).
