Thanks for the kind encoragements. Glad you liked it.
I have not snapped aeroplanes for a long long time. And it is my 1st attemp with my DSLR.
The shots were taken during the flying display at the Asian Aerospace Show in Singapore. I dunno which idot pick the 11.30 - 12.50pm slot where the sun is overhead to do the displays.
My personal fav is Shot #4. Unique. The jetstream is more commonly seen in fighters than a commercial airliner.
Data : 300D with EF100-400L at 400mm, IS mode 1. ISO 200 at "P" mode.

Nice shots, I like #5! That plane is way too big IMO, I would never set foot on one.

well, there are over 4.5 billion people out there... and there must be a ton of planes out there.

Nice.
I thought they were taken from the air at first.
I noticed that cool effect can be seen in pic #3, (in 3 out of the 4 engines )
edit .. no - can see it all 4.

Nice one.. too bad you cut off bits in almost every shot.. Still it's a huge plane so it would be hard to fit it all into the frame :P

It was taken at the aerial display during the 23rd Asian Aerospace. From the beach just before the fly past area above the sea.
Perhaps it is the sign of age. I was no longer excited by the fighter jets. This was the highlight of the show, I would say. Everyone was grasping for air, when she showed up.
Dispite the fact that it looked like a sprem whale trying to do ballroom dancing in classroom, every turn, every acceleration and slow fly past were a marval of modern day technology.
Was praying hard that this fella wouldn't stall and fall onto the sea below. It can cause a mini-tsunami and flood my lenses. (I can swim)....
The sleek lines and tight turns she made.

I was corrected. The stream on the engines is called Contrail.

I had to admit.
The crops were deliberate & a personal perference for tight crop shots & less blank space.
I just dun want another full frame full A380 shots that everyone is snapping - does not makes mine stands out.
Just wished that I can do that for the fighter jets. Just too far away for me to do this comfortably.....

Contrails are what you see higher up, when the exhaust and heated air freeze quickly into ice crystals in the atmosphere. Here with the A380 you see vorticies and condensation, part of the air moving along the wings.
If you want to see some cool ones, check this guy out:

Gee thanks
the A380 was flying really low at the time of the shots.
But just becoz I called it jet-stream, on a layman's term, a correction email was send to be -pointing my error.
Eitherway, it is a beautiful bird.

Oh No.
I didn't mean to rebutt or violently defend against your comment.
I just treat the comments here like a chat with friends over coffee in a lazy afternoon.. ...
