I asked this in the software section but got no answer so I thought that maybe someone over here could/would help

Does anybody know of a plug-in or a way to get "pro-mist" type looks or "star" effects in PS7, I just bought a 24-70 L and don't want to invest in 77mm filters if I don't have to.

Thanks,
Matt

Or you could go to www.andromeda.com and buy the photographic filter pack...

Star Effect - Very customizable: number of points, how big, etc.

With Filter:

Pro-Mist - I'm assuming this is some soft focus filter. Andromeda calls it "VariFocus" and you can set the intensity, etc. Better results than Gaussian Blur...

With Filter:

Good luck!

Englishman,

That's pretty sweet too... care to share? All I found in PhotoShop that came close was Filter -> Render -> LensFlare, but that wasn't the effect I was looking for.

How'd you do these?

Hey, that's really cool! Thanks!

Goes to show that I use about 5% of PhotoShop's power, if that.

The problem was that about half of the 5% wasn't in Elements... sneaky Adobe! :)
