Hello everybody!

I've been around for while, checking out photos and posts about all various kinds of things. It seems to be a very friendly forum, and I hope I can join the community and share some good times!

I thought it would be fun to start with a portrait shoot I had today. Actually the person in the pictures is myself. I tought my friend the camera controls, and he pushed the buttons. I just a day ago bought a small foldable reflector which I used in conjunction with the existing last halfhour light we had through the window today. My friend brought a rather odd instrument called 'trombonium' which we thought would be fun to include. I would love some goods and bads on these two shots. Would you prefer some more camera data or is this fine?

EDIT - Of course the year should be 2006 on the photos, sorry for that mistake... /EDIT

i like these alot, i still dont know how to make things blur like the top left of your second photo. But it adds a great effect.

Hi there. We shot these with my Canon 50mm f1.8 lens, which provides a much smaller depth-of-field than the Canon kit lens I see you use. On close distances and large apertures like f1.8, the focus area gets really small - hence the image!

Very nice lighting, Henrik. The first photo looked like your glasses were frames only, but I think I could see a reflection in them. Very nice.

Very nice pics, the lighting is very good, the pics sharp and your choice of composition also very good.
Roger.
