Spent the better part of the afternoon in Cataloochee national park. Let me know what you think.

They are all very good shots, its too bad they have been tagged. It takes away from the 'wild' nature. My favorite is the second shot.

Yea they will be untagged when they get the population built up. They have just introduced these elk into our park.

Very nice shots. Interestingly, there are now so many elk in the Estes Park/Rocky Mountain National Park area they are becoming pests. They have limited natural enemies and of course, it is a political hot potatoe to thin the herds.

I had herd (LOL) that. Doesn't seem to be a problem around here, as the natural enemies are slowing the process :)

Yea, allows the park to track them if they need to. They are into stage 2 of 3 stages trying to populate the park with elk. They are on a set back of about 2 years now due to the elk being killed by prey/people.
