Hi,

As a beginner I'm after some tips on how to obtain the best results from the bundled s/w. I've just been saving as JPEG so far. I'm guessing it's something like this:

- Shoot in RAW

- use File Viewer to convert to TIFF (can you "save as" in File Viewer?)

- open TIFF in PhotoShop LE for tweaking (for me, that's limited to a bit of sharpening at the moment so any tips on work-flow welcome)

- save as JPEG.

Does that sound about right?

Any advice gratefully received.

That sounds right. I personally don't use RAW at present. The files are larger than I would like, and I'm too impatient to convert all of my images! I always use the Large Superfine setting.

As for the workflow, sharpening is usually a good thing to make shots more crisp. Sometimes if there are a lot of highlights, sharpening doesn't look good. I increase contrast often, and also increase color saturation often. I am careful with color saturation when people are in the shot because it can over-redden skin tones.
