Steve... http://www.flickr.com $25 for a pro account... so easy I can use it :) They even have tools (free) to batch upload your shots. What are you waiting for? :) Only rule they have is you can't post bunny photos...everything else is fair game.
Thank you Geoff and Adam for the kind words. :)

$25 for a year of Flickr Pro is totally worth it. I use jUploadr to handle my batch uploads and it's a breeze.

I used PS to remove a hot spot from the flash out of the original shot. Other than that... it is about as original as I could make it. Here is the original with the hot spot.

Have a great 4th!

Many thanks Steve. :) Old shots from last summer. You will enjoy the 430ex. Adam mentioned a set of tubes other than Kenko at the class... I can't remember the brand or the cost?
I think I shot these with the tubes on and the 1.4xTC? Old age... I can't recall all the details. LOL
I hope you have a wonderful 4th. I'm looking forward to everyone's photos.

what time is Kristy's lighting class going to start? Just curious
Good Question...... Saturday is looking good... I just need to alert the members of the household for final clearance... :)
Did anyone get a picture of Hatch wearing the bunny ears and pink feather boa or Adam in the pink tutu and tiger ears?
I missed Adam, but I have Hatch and Tammie, and something else... I'll work on that this week... I'm editing baby photos tonight.
On an unrelated note, anyone got any good tips about shooting with the 17-40 and 24-70, things I really should be aware of? My rental gear came in for the weekend and I now have two more lenses and a body and a flash for a week.
Woo Hoo! Enjoy them! I love my 24-70, but a macro lens, it is not.
I have a birthday suit I can model in.
Oh no,,, here we go again.. Gotta get that waxing appointment first.
Steve has a few shots floating around. Man... I am one scary bunny!!! LOL
Tom Hicks is has compiled a few shots he thought stood out in the Macro Art Challenge the forum hosted this past month. I was so honored to have one of my shots in the mix. The yellow sunflower/drop photo is mine.
I just setup a trip to Yellowstone in Sept. I AM SO EXCITED!!!Hatch
Your macro work is amazing..... :)
You are soooo lucky to go to Yellowstone... I'm green with envy... It's going to be so amazing. I've never been so no hints from me.
I have one of
a: Bunny Hatch
b: Kristy
c: "Fairy" Temptress
d: the group
I don't have a web site (how sad - a computer guy with no web site) -
maybe someone could post them for me.
I'll put them up for you.. except the one of me.. YUCKY.... eeew... I didn't
belong there. Hatch looks so cute in bunny ears, and Tammie with sweet butterfly wings and a spiked collar... a mix of sweetness and sultry all at once... watch out!

Fantastic. You know I was kidding. How long did it take to set up the shot? I thought that lots of people used glycerine for "water drops". But maybe not for this type of shot. You do know that now that you showed us this skill shot that everyone at the Kristy Jello Shot and Photo Lighting Workshop is going to want lessons! :D Drat - where are we going to find grass growing in the summer?

Happy 4th all, too -Yes, Adam did mention in post here that I picked up a set of tubes called Promaster at FotoForum on what is it, 7th street, for $129 + tax - Adam and I compared the Kenko and they were identical except for the badge. They came out of the same mould - the little stray marks were the same! I did look online and found them at $119.
Argh! Dell sent me a coupon for 20% off expires today - 5d for $2,399.20 - Mark II $6,399.20 - S3 $279.20

Thank you all for the comments on the flower drop shots.
Welcome F40 to the site. :)
Thank you Kristy for the kind words. I just point and shoot...whatever happens…happens :) Don't be jealous about Yellowstone. After booking everything... it isn't as expensive as I thought it would be. Only $250 to fly to Salt Lake City...rent the car...cheap hotel... I made my budget with a few bucks to spare. A friend from work is going with me... 50/50 split will be nice. My wife can't get off work and isn't in to the outdoors thing. We will be there from the 8-13th... I can't wait! You can make the trip!!! My friend Gary grew up there…. He said the best time of year is to go in May and in Sept… I hope he is right. The leaves are going to turn and the elk, deer, ect are in rut. The elk will be bugling. It should be fun to see.
Thank you Ryan for the comments. Glad you enjoyed the shots.
No worries Geoff about using Photoshop. I just wanted to let you know how I set the scene and shot it. I can't recall the exact distance the flower was from the drop. I just moved it in until it filled up the majority of the drop.
Sad to hear about the Dell coupon... $2300 is a pretty good price for the 5D. I'm on the fence on what camera to upgrade to....
Thank you Adam for the comments on the flower drop. :)
Good attempt on the first try Geoff. Maybe a little more light applied to the front of the drop? Good thinking on flipping the cap over so you can read Canon in the drop.
I hope everyone has a fun day out. I will have to take mental pictures of the fireworks...camera is still in the shop...grrrrr. LOL I hope you all capture great photos of tonight’s shows.
Take care,
Hatch

CANON U.S.A. URGES AMERICA TO GET OUTSIDE
AND RELEASE ITS INNER SHUTTERBUG
A Summer of Free Workshops at Three of America’s Most Popular National Parks and Canon’s Second Annual Photography in the Parks Photo Contest Return For a Season Filled With Photo Fun
LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., June 20, 2007 – From the beaches of the eastern seaboard to the Great Plains, and from the wetlands of the south, to the towering sequoias of the west, America and its pristine parks have always been hailed as top destination sites for photography enthusiasts and their families. Canon U.S.A., Inc. and the American Park Network continue to help define the relationship between photography and the great outdoors with the introduction of a free photography workshop program on select dates throughout the summer in Yosemite, Grand Canyon and Yellowstone National Parks. These programs will be artfully hosted and instructed by a select few of the world renowned Canon Explorer of Light photographers including Adam Jones and Lewis Kemper, along with other Canon-selected photographers such as Rob and Ann Simpson. What’s more, the Canon Photography in the Parks Photo Contest* returns this year to offer photographers the chance to display their work and win prizes in the categories of landscape and wildlife photography in the parks.
“Photography affords an entirely new perspective of the natural world that surrounds us every day, both in our national parks, and in our own backyards,” stated Yuichi Ishizuka, senior vice president and general manager of the Consumer Imaging Group, Canon U.S.A. “As a global organization, Canon understands its responsibility for the impact it makes on society and the environment. Canon is guided by the philosophy of Kyosei – ‘all people regardless of race, religion or culture, harmoniously living together and working into the future.’ Through our involvement in the parks, we hope to strengthen Canon’s commitment to conservation.”
The Canon Photography in the Parks Photo Contest
From June 1st to September 29th, photographic enthusiasts are encouraged to submit their favorite photographs from an American park to the Canon Digital Learning Center. Winning photographs in the categories of landscape and wildlife will win a trip to the participating parks of their choice, along with a full suite of Canon photographic equipment. By logging onto the Canon Digital Learning Center at www.usa.canon.com/dlc, potential winners will not only have the opportunity to submit their photos, but can also peruse the Web site to explore the various educational resources that Canon has to offer for novices and advanced photographers alike.
Photography in the Parks Workshops
With the help of the Canon Explorer of Light program, Canon’s elite roster of the most influential photographers in the world, park visitors will have the opportunity to participate in free daily guided visual photographic journeys. Additionally, Canon will loan participants top-tier digital camera equipment to capture those awe-inspiring sights at no additional cost. Aspiring photographers will learn the tips and tricks to taking great outdoor photos and experience hands-on training using some of the same equipment that professional photographers use. Evening programs are also offered, providing visitors the rare opportunity to spend time with the Explorers of Light, view stunning imagery, ask questions, and receive prints and a CD of their own photos.
“It’s rare that we get the chance to share our passion for photography with people that are so eager to learn,” stated Adam Jones, professional photographer and Canon Explorer of Light. “As far as wildlife and landscape photography goes, these three parks are among the best locations the Earth has to offer. I look forward to teaching the tips and tricks I’ve used that will help to create photographs that can compete in the Canon in the Parks Photo Contest.”

I need cheering up. Pictures of Hatch, Steve and Adam getting in touch with their feminine side would do it.
My house got broken into on the 3rd. The creep drove up in a white Corolla and ran off with a few hundred bucks, Russ's silver Canadian coins (don't know why he didn't have those in the safe deposit box), 1 ring with small diamonds and our 2 handgunds (he left the bullets). He left the rest of my jewelry (now in a safe deposit box) and the photography gear.
I curse him and wish him really, really bad luck for the rest of his life!

Tammie... I am so sorry to hear yoru news... It's very unsettling, not only on the loss of personal items, but the invasion of your privacy and space. I'm glad he didn't take any of your gear. He's obviously stupid because he left the most imporant stuff behind.
I hope they find the jerk and make him pay heavily.... My apologies... is there anything I can do?

seems like the jerko was on a search for quick sell items and not bulk. Now I would be concerned knowing the jerko now know what else is there and might have it in his jerko mind to make a return visit. I would buy a big gun safe or some type of safe and store the gear and set up a burgular alarm if you don't already have that one.

My "newest" car (from 93) doesn't have AC, and my wife's had it down here for 7 years...that one should be going away soon. But don't worry, if I drive anywhere I'll bring the one with AC, it's only slightly older (83) :)

nice, most of the cars I got from my parents (83 accord, 86 surburban, 89 beretta) had no a/c. been driving for 8 yrs so i'm kinda used to it. didn't use that much ac in orlando either. gas prices these days help me with the ac problem. oh and good luck with the wedding! you should try and find it. I haven't been in almost 10 yrs but I remember that there was some entrance to a cave and then you see another darker cave above it. the entrance to the above cave is all the way in the back of the bottom one. oh and be careful of bats. one reason I didn't try getting in there before :-P

Kristy,
Saw your post in G&N (Maternity shot), since I can't post there, thought I'd let you know the shot is really great! I don't think I've seen this type of pose much - great choice. It shows a very sensual lady who happens to be pregnant. If you didn't label it as a maternity shot, I wonder how many people in G&N would have realized.
Nice job (either in lighting or post processing) keeping the entire background dark.

Awww,, Thanks Steve.. I'm waiting for them to tear me up... I know it's going to happen. I was so HAPPY to do this shot as I've been waiting for someone to let me try it out for over a year now. Finally a willing subject that happened to be the perfect body type to test it out on. :)
I don't think I had to PP the background on this one.. we were far enough away from it. Sometimes I have to burn it down some, but not this time.. :) I have no idea what I did right...

Kristy-
Have fun with the baby pics - I will be getting my car inspected (license tabs are due). Also spent most of this evening mucking with the car, the battery died and waited to get a jump, then off to Autozone to replace the old battery.
I'm thinking about putting together a difusion panel to play around with, I found 60" wide white rip-stop for $7 a yard. Will need to borrow my mom's serger to finish off the raw edges (yes, I know how to sew). If I get it finished before the get together I'll bring it. Since I"ll be playing with PVC and we will have more than a few lights - does anyone have a background light stand? If not I'll see if I can cobble one up.

The outing was fantanstic Kristy..thanks for asking. Just got home and turned on the computer now. We got into some cooler weather and had a nice little hike and took some pix - downloading as I write - then we had a nice little drive along the Rim on a dirt road for 46 miles with lots of nice stops and attempts to catch some lightning. Had a very late lunch/ early dinner in Payson at a WOK resturant.
Will upload some to a new album a little later and will let you know the title .

Now for the bad news - there is none!
Sorry to hear about your gal pal - I hope she pulls through.
OK now lets get back to the discussion of dating gals taller than you are - think of it this way, you might as well open the field, because when you screw up the dead person's knee, you will be in a wheel chair and all the gals will be taller than you. So no reason to be picky now! Go grab that Amazon!

Yes I can sew... helps keep my parachutes in order. Went to Tempe Sales and they are liquidators so they may have in stock or not depending... today they didn't. I found some at Joann fabrics, it seems a little heavier than what I was looking for (they have 1.6 calendared ripstop versus 1.1, I may need to check Para-Gear in Chicago to see if they have the type I'm looking for. Although the 1.6 might work better will need to experiment with that --- another instance where too much knowledge is a bad thing).
Really sorry to hear about everyone's news.

If anyone is interested in shooting balloons, I'll be visiting Albuquerque for it's annual balloon fiesta on Oct 6th and 7th. Seen the last 3 events, lots of people to shoot.

It already happened I think and if it did it's just a small one. The one in NM is 750-800 balloons. I wanted to ride in one till I seen the basket up close.

Sounds like fun - sadly, my job does not give me the flexibility to go. :(

Bummer  You can try for a bolt or two or three next time. :)
Ohhh goody! I want to see the bug from the bottom side! Could have some fun processing that - one could be a siloute (sp) and another could be B&W, etc!

What a super idea! Why don't you get prices Disney along with length of trips and the number of people it can hold!!!! Hmmm - maybe how much weight it can hold, some of us have heavy cameras and lens :p If it is not too expensive, it could be a fun thing to plan for the future. I can not see getting in one when it is as hot as it is now with the propane jetting flames just a few feet above you. It is a wonderful ride, and the vistas are too cool - bring ear plugs because the flames are loud! :D If they don't hold too many people, you might also want to find out if there is a discount for two balloons! And if we want to rise fast, we could always throw out Steve, if he brings a chute!

Oh come on Mr Zippy! You gotta live - give your relatives a break - get some flight insurance and take a flight! It is wonderful! It is so different from airplane flying!

A trip in a hot air balloon does sound like fun. I wonder how much it costs, and for how long it last? Anyone ever does this before?

a ride in a basket can cost 200+
I'll let you know for sure, I mean I'll try it if everyone else did it, but naturally it makes me nervous.

No way you'd get me up in one of those..... as cool as it sounds, I'd be the one sitting on the floor of it, holding my head in my hands with my eyes closed.....

Geoff, nice pics in the new album. The piggy crossing the road is cute. The waterfalls are really nice. You should have asked Adam B to stand under the waterfall and pretend he was taking a shower so you could get some action shots.

Ryan, you need a new car.. no a/c in this heat is enough to fry your brain.. and a college kid with brain fries is not a good student.
I've been driving in the valley 8 years with no A/C. Or heat.
Soft top jeep, no windows - even in winter/monsoon. ;)
What can I say, I've got massochistic tendencies.
