Have not checked, but there is bug o rama at firebird this sunday. I have a friend racing from ABQ, I might head up there for a bit. other than that I not sure. My family is all done visiting, now I'm broke hahaha.

Ryan, I don't kow if it's of interest to you but there is an air show at Scottsdale airport. Lots of biplanes and stuff. It ran today (Saturday) and it runs Sunday. I'm not sure what the hours are - I'm sure there's a website for it.

The Sedona Sirius Lookers Astronomy Club and Sedona Public Library will again host Astronomy Day at the Safeway Plaza in West Sedona. Viewing will be in the Safeway parking lot, starting with solar viewing at 3:30pm until 5:30pm. And again starting with night-time observing at 7pm until 9:30pm.

I just looked up the weather forecast for tonite and I see that there's going to be about 70% cloud coverage so I don't think that they will be viewing the moon/stars out tonight. especially at 40 degrees....I'm from phx and i don't think I have enough warmth with my clothes for that. :-P

I don't think there will be much stargazing tonight statewide. Tomorrow night at Thunderbird park in the north valley, SAC is hosting a public event. Weather forecasts are looking better for this.

Sun burn from our team builder.:o I put on some sunscreen, but got nailed with a water balloon and failed to apply more.

As for lenses, it depends. I take the 500mm if I'm after birds, but I like the 300mm for dragonflies, lizards, ground squirrels, etc. Adam, Geoff and I did macro in the butterfly pavillion at DBG and there's always bugs and such at BTA.

Yep, that one is Havasupai Falls about two miles outside of Supai, AZ down in the Grand Canyon. I think somewhere I have more of these shots, and I shot a roll of slide film while I was down there too. It's a beautiful place if you don't mind hiking 8 miles down to Supai and then another 2 miles to the falls.

haha, I just found out earlier this week that I will be photographing it. wasn't sure what I was gonna do this weekend in phx. anyways, it has all the info on that website. 12-6, I should be there from start to finish with my tripod shooting the cars, then onto models and stage stuff. Still looking for some good and free software to install on my server for sharing pix. Tried coppermine, but I did not care for it - They have a huge "Coppermine" taking up about a third or quater of each page. There is some software here that looks interesting, but after spending over two hours searching and reading, could not find comprhensive installation instructions, so that is out. Guess I can just go back to making up normal web pages, ugh.

lol, wish I was hung over but then I wouldn't have made it to the show. the dub show was okay. not as many cars as I would hope for. the place was so small compared to a hin show I went to in orlando. BUT, there were a lot of gorgeous models whom I got to meet. :-) even got a free 8x10 from one of them, but I know its to get on my good side for photos yet I don't mind being used :-D And I got to borrow my friends 16-35L. so nice. I want one.

Hi Cesarvai! Welcome to the group. Ther are a lot of friendly people here. 30mm may be a bit wide for the zoo depending on what you like to shoot. But a lot of us bring longer stuff with us and I'm always happy to let someone try out some of mine during the zoo trip. It helps the other person decide what they like before shelling out the cash.

hey cesarvai, you shouldn't really need your flash, maybe for a little fill? but overall not. I"m sure one of these guys could bring a reflector :-P

oh, I guess I should ask now...would I be shunned if I brought my d70 w/my 80-200? all I have for my canon is my 24-85 or I have this tamron 28-200 which is pretty beat up yet I have filters for it, color filters, b/w, and polarizer. well I don't want you guys leaving me behind so I'm guessing the nikon is a no :-P

arizona85224 stopped by my desk this afternoon and asked to borrow my 100-400. I made him get down on his knees and beg (just kidding...I didn't make him beg). So you have your choice of the 70-200 f2.8 IS or 300 f4. But you have to carry it all day because I'm being a sissy girl and don't want to carry more weight than I have to. :p
