slightly maybe... but the tonal qualilties will still be as they are ... so I'd expect to make some changes before printing.

Love that shot Terry. :)

Yeah.. I did convert it in RAW, but then tweaked a few things in PS... There just aren't enough shadows maybe.... Something is definitely "off". I have the original on a DVD... I may just dig it up again and process it in color... ??

I think the light background is throwing it off..... just snapshots really... walking home from the beach on our vacation, with camera in hand... and saw an opportunity (or what i thought....) Color might be the best choice for these. ;)
Ahhhh! So many things to worry about!! I'm never going to print my stuff. lol

Well, when you go to color... let us know?

You should print lots of things..... It's fun to see your work in a frame. :) And I know you have lots of great scenery stuff....

Color... yeah... maybe next week I'll pull it out again. For now I have relatives coming in on Wednesday morning, So the week will go by quickly.

Never enough time in the day.

ps.... it's raining here... really pouring..... pounding actually. :)

Yeah, my mother actually wants to print a couple of my shots to put in the bathroom we're getting re-done. We just have to pick what she wants...

NO WAY!! Figures, you got the storm that just passed us by... we did get a few thunder storms though. :)

Try using WHCC.. they do really nice work. For fun, you can put a linen texture on them. Your mom will like that. :)

You could also try MPix... I've used them once or twice and they are really great too. They are the sister company of a pro lab called "Millers", who has a really great reputation.

And yeah... we have lightining and thunder now along with the rain.... I should be out chasing lightning... for that perfect shot.... But rather to have my glass of Cabernet and chill out before bed. :) LOL....

Hahaha... I have no idea what Cabernet is (I'm assuming wine?) but sounds relaxing. :)

When converting in Raw, use the preview check box to switch back and forth between B&W and color and look at the dominant colors . Then move the color sliders to raise or lower each color in the grayscale. Your conversion looks great BWT.

Doesn't matter really.... I have no idea what "central" would actually be anyway.

So here's today's latest.. I think I'm in B&W mode for some reason....

This one is just too cute! Edit to add... window light from behind... just playing around with the camera.

I really like the lightening shot too Jeremy! I want to try and do some of those during monsoons this year. Kristy, the last two of yours look great, I think your B&W conversion on your daughter is well done! and that last one is great, I need to have my camera out more often when I am home with Delaney, I could probly catch some funny ones. as for the brick and mortar meetings, if they are on friday evenings or saturday (maybe even sunday during the day) I could do them, but having to get up at 4am I have trouble staying awake past 8pm during the week.

alright...finally edited photos so I guess it is my turn :-)

- Love your version of the Angel

- Interesting POV on the hole in the tree. Nice find.

- Definately not a medal contending team in "synchronized shooting." Funny!

- Trust me folks, that landing hurt worse than it looks like it's gonna. Sorry I didn't pick up on it quicker when you guys whistled at me. All I caught was the ginormous splash...

- I think this one's your best (of what you posted.) Nice, crisp details but well separated from the BG with shallow DOF.

Big Fun was had...!

Hey all. Just popping in to say hi. I've been offline for over a month now, and I just got my PC back together today. For anyone contemplating putting in new floors in your house, I'd advise against it. I've been in hell for the last 6 weeks, and we are only about 1/2 way done. :(

On the plus side, since the contractor has screwed up so badly (4 times), they are going to do more than originally asked. We are getting complete mahogany hardwoods all throughout the house, except for the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room, where they will re-tile it with whatever we want.

Everything I've seen regarding LR.com = First Rate and Above Board

I'd strongly urge you to get in touch with them regarding taking one of their lenses out of the country and whether or not it would be properly insureable under their contractual agreement.

Wouldn't wish something to happen to a rented lens but I'd wish it even less if it wasn't properly insured !

Sounds like you rented a lens... :) I've rented from them once before and it was very simple and a good experience. :)

I know Frank (hatch) has rented from them a few times as well... Why are you not renting the f2.8 lens if I may ask?

No real reason... it's cheaper... plus it's going to be used mostly for landscape stuff... so the f/2.8 really isn't that big of a deal right now. I'm sure when I actually purchase a lens, I'd probably get the 2.8. :)

I'd loan you mine but I've seen how you have this nasty habit of jumping into random bodies of water... :p

Hey by the way, for the return to Fossil Creek in September, we need to investigate other areas. I was watching a "Beat the Heat" special edition of AZ Highways on TV tonite and they talked about Fossil Creek. There are waterfalls, travertine dams (think Havasupai Falls...) and they showed areas that were much, much more lush and green than where we were shooting. A couple of shots looked like the water was coming right out of the rock. Very cool...gotta find it.

Maybe there are trails that lead upstream from where we (ok...I) almost forgot Adam's car..?

Well, just my 2-cents..... but if you are considering purchasing the f/2.8.... wouldn't you want to test it out on a rental first? Huge learning curve... the focusing range is like 5 feet back... I'm up close an personal with my 24-70... so the first time I played with the 70-200... I had to make huge adjustments. LOL... :).

Easy There Cowgirl...

I'm sure we'd have found more stuff if it hadn't hit 100+ so early in the day. Truth be told, major schlepping through the woods kind of went out the window early.

I don't know if you can get at them, but on TV they showed the old flow control gates that used to adjust the water flow and they looked super cool (all rusty and stuff...) Sorry we didn't find those considering I need to shoot gates this month.

One piece of advice (and Jeremy gets the nod for this...) bring water shoes. No doubt I left some shots "in the bag" 'cause I wasn't prepared to get my feet wet.

I believe it is about a 3.5 mile hike to the really cool waterfalls at Fossil Creek, with a moderate elevation change. I'd be interesting depending on the weather, I don't hike well in the heat. :)

Correct. The lusher part of Fossil Creek you have to hike to. It is really worth it though. If we hike down to it (we park where we left Adams car) any vehicle would be able to make it.

So what day we gonna go in September? :)

I purchased this last Christmas for an event we were shooting... that was the last time I used it on a shoot. Maybe a couple times around the house messing around. It's a great bracket... I just haven't had a need for it...for different shoots we have been on. Would be great for weddings/indoor events/clubs...etc. You can go from landscape to portrait as the base move 90 degrees. No need to rotate the entire bracket and flash.

I bought it at Photomark...paid over $300 for it... will let it go for $200

It is like new... I have the original box and all the items that came with it.

Finalize?

They have Nature (Landscapes, Skies/Storms, Trees/Flowers, Macro of Nature, Wildlife), The Man-Made World (Cityscapes, Macro of Man Made), The Human Condition (People, Portraits, Pets, Emotions, Humor, Motion/Action), and A Different Way of Seeing (Night Photos, Abstract, Post Processing, Other).

You're allowed as many submissions as you want, just as long as you don't have too many of the same thing (5 lightning shots).

I'm working on getting my "favorites" on another site thingy. :)

Jeremy,
Is that the Lightroom Gallery you are using?
Yes... and no. Lightroom is the program that I'm using, but I downloaded one of those "extra" add on galleries. This one is called TTG Shadowbox Gallery. It's real nice. You can customize it to pretty much however you want. :)

Oh, and thank you for your vote. :)

Wow...tough call Jeremy

2 .. 4 .. 5 .. 8 .. 10

So do you have to have an established domain of your own to be able to upload a gallery like this or can you make this and send it to a site like PBase? As you can tell, I'm "stump dumb" when it comes to such things...

Thanks Jay. Ummm... I'm not entirely sure. I have my own domain thingy that I got a year ago and so I just use that. You might be able to use PBase if you can get the all the FTP information (Server, Username, Password, and server path is all you really need). If you can get all of those (or already know them) for PBase then you'd be able to load it up. :)

Thank you Jake for your imput! Ummm... I haven't decided yet. Kind of depends on what everyone else thinks and what I feel like doing. lol I'll definitely let you all know though. :)
