IBM MicroDrive

One question on Microdrive.
Is it normal for the drive to make a clicking noise when the drive is working (be it storing the images, scrolling through the pic using the camera LCD, transferring data from camera to PC etc) or it should be slient when the drive is working?

I had this on my IBM 1GB Microdrive. Main worry is that drive will face the same problem as Zip disk 'Click of Death'!

No problems at all with the click noise of IBM drive.
1000 pictures and clicking every day..
Put on some music when your feelings are getting to tense...

I have a mG and a 340M MD. They have a teenie hum if you listen close, but I have never heard a click.
