I've been using it alot lately and it seems to perform pretty well, especially in low light. Here's a photograph of a friends little girl that I took at a "mama blessing" last night. It was pretty dark in the room except for light from the kitchen spilling in. I did have to run it through Noiseware because I was shooting at 1600 ISO and not using any kind of a flash. She was standing in front of her mom who was wearing black pants and a black shirt, so I just had to black out a few bits and pieces, and voila, a black background!

Thank you all for your kind comments. :) I really like how this one came out and it gives me hope that one day I'll be a decent photographer.

How did you get this so natural colors in such a poor lighting conditions? I don't know! I think my white balance was on Auto and the lens took care of the rest. There was quite alot of candle light in the room which might have warmed things up a bit.

This is precicely what makes all of us addict to photography.
So much pain for getting less-than-perfect pictures, and from times to times, a magik picture pops out of the camera that we cannot understand what we did so special to get it.

Kids, the reason why I went into this hobby to begin with and your little model is just adorable. I like the lighting as well. The 50 1.4 is definitely a great value.

I Have the 50mm 1.8 and no complains but, when I see shots like that one makes me Lust it.

I gotta make up my mind, to get the 50mm f/1.4 or I go straight to the 35mm f/1.4L

2 different focal lengths...the 35 is more normal and the 50 is more tele-ish for a crop body...but I just received my copy of the 50 a few minutes ago and all signs point to go so far!
