File rename in PS7 or not

Hi,
Is there a quick key to rename all the files in a folder or in p/s?
Trying to save renaming them one by one when the numbers corrospond to a exsisting file!

I use PS7. I have a short rename action (and also a rename and resize for web action) which I use through the batch processing feature. It does take a while for larger images, as each image is opened and then saved. There are also freeware programs available which do batch renaming without opening each file.
