I compare my photos to others out there and mine do not seem to compare well. This picture does not seem to be totally in crystal clear focus, but the camera and the view finder seemed to be. It has had no after picture modifications (other than the obvious cropping necessary to get it into a size that will post here. Please tell me if I am not doing this correctly or if it is just a matter of after photo processing.
Conditions:
Overcast
Camera: 20D
Lense 24-70 (set to 70)
2.8
Mode set to AV
Distance 4 feet from target

You need to do some work in post to get the "crystal clear" look that you see elsewhere on this forum. Try shooting in RAW if you don't already, and process in Raw Shooter Essentials, a free download from www.pixmantec.com , and then doing levels and sharpening in Photoshop. Trust me, it will make a big difference in your results.

Thanks. I'll work at shooting "in the RAW". Ha. If nothing else, it will be more interesting for the neighbors....
