It seems that things aren't as quiet on the four thirds front anymore. Panasonic just announced their own Oly 330 clone...with a Leica lens!!!

Too bad they're a bit late to the game... had they released that camera + the lens about a year ago, I'm not so sure I'd be a member of this fine forum right now :)

Funky look to it, but some features are incredibly well thought out. A vibrating sensor to remove dust would be something I'd kill for on my Canon

Yeah, I also love how most of the essential controls don't require you to navigate the menus (ie: the huge rotating shutter speed selector on top of the camera). However, something tells me it's going to cost more than a 20/30D...

Gives it the old rangerfinder-ish Leica look. I'm not sure I like it though... hehe. But Leica glass is always nice (and expensive  )

Very interesting times.. Camera companies unable to keep up in the new fast digital market and fall out of contention.. while electronics companies familiar with the pace of obsolescents may take over.
The smart Camera companies either evolve quickly.. or merge/partner with the electronics companies,.. the rest close shop.

I'm too poor to be interested in anything else.

I wouldn't touch this camera with a 10-foot-pole, but good to see this evolution. I am not interested in buying a camera from a company that specializes in producing TVs, radios and dvd players.

And batteries. They're only a buck and a half for alkalines at Dollar General Stores (if you have those).

and next will be Sony.
With their Konica-Minolta thing.
Sony makes awesome TVs and DVD players. My receiver/amp is a Sony, but I cringe everytime I see a Sony "camera."
They will make it be some weird looking "thing." And it will ONLY take Sony mem cards and Sony cables and Sony this and Sony that.
But, my next TV will probably be a Sony. ;)

And you know that evey image will have "copyright, SONY Corp" imprinted in the corner, and lodged in the EXIF.
They do make nice TV's though, and the PS2 is very capable. :)

have to agree with Jim.. When I originally went shopping for my Pro 1 a year and a half ago I was in the position of taking a close look at all of the brands out there available. It was important to me that I choose one that was established and specialized in cameras. I didn't want a company who's products were all over the place.. It just didn't appeal to me.

I don't even trust Sony for TV's :D. Try a Loewe and you'll never want to look at a Sony TV again.
But some are already travelling this route::rolleyes:
Nikon has already gone to the dogs (http://www.dpreview.com/news/0409/04091701nikond2xsony.asp)
Sony will lauch an SLR this year (http://www.dpreview.com/news/0409/04091701nikond2xsony.asp)
