i just went from an older kodak easyshare to this canon a610....the transition was such a good experience so far and i have come to conclude i should have done this so much sooner!!...now i am hooked at taking pictures
to make this a valid post i would like to know of other's experiences with this camera and would good things could i upgrade....the only thing i have for it atm is an ultra2 512 mb sd card...i am wondering about filters.polarizers and lenses i can benefit from...i like taking nature pictures, landscapes and car pictures

I guess a polariser might help with your landscapes (I believe they bring out the best in clouds & sky). You might also want some ND filters if you're hoping to do the long exposures of waterfalls etc that seem to be very much in vogue lately.
You can do an awful lot with the camera as is though - experiment with the my colours setting on blue when you're photographhing skies, and have fun with the thing generally. (IF nothing else, it'll tide you over until you get the package with your accessories in :) )

My daughter has the A610, which I got her for christmas. She has taken lots of pictures and things turn out great. I am now testing the video ability as my camcorder broke. The A610 is one of few cameras that zoom during video. But when I zoom, it seems to get worst. So I will have to investigate.
For filters, I think an adaptor is required. Maybe do a google search with A610 and filters.

To use filters or lenses on you A610 you need the Conversion Lens Adapter. Canon makes one but many people have told me to get the Lensmate adapter which is made for the camera and is made of aluminum as opposed to the Canon adapter made of plastic. The other reason I was told to check out the Lensmate adapter is because it fits a little more snug and the Canon has a bit of play when attached.
