Hi,
Being honest they are nice night shots but the subject does not inspire me. Also you need to keep your horizontals staight. The last one is especially titled.

Martin.

Hi Ronin,

Nice shots and as Martin says it is important to keep horizontals straight. I have the same difficulty and I am going to get myself a level that fits in the camera hot shoe to help me do that.

regards,
peter

I have to agree with the rest here.
Love the first shot. Never seen Steveston at night before.

That's a great idea! Where can I get something like that?

I'm going to shop my local camera stores till I find one. I know others have them so they must be available.

Look .. in many ways these are as good a many night shots we've been posting. But as the first gives us some white light , the others may be underexposed. (You may be able to "mine" some lighness using "curves" in PS.)

Be sure to shoot 3 or more shots of each subject. Search this site and you will find a SLIDE RULE that I posted re shutter speeds.

Other than that, PAPPY posted a great shot of Victoria.
http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=13701 What it brings in -- that makes the shot -- is a colorful and dynamic nightscape. But, we all have o work with the images at our disposal !

Well done.

Actually, I was going for a more orange look in everything. The lights in Steveston are all orange so it really couldn't be avoided but I intentionally set the white balance "wrong" for the warmer light look since I thought anyone can do a pic where everything looks white anyways.

pappy, are you also in the GVA area? If you find one, let me know.
