Three theatre gigs in as many weeks! Man, I'm bushed. The most recent production was a fantastic show, with 150 kids in the cast from the Rockford, IL public schools.

Stage lighting is brutal. But in this shot, the book she was holding reflected enough light back up to brighten her face quite nicely. It's one of my favorites from this show. More shots from Starmites on this page of our website. (http://performancephoto.us/Starmites.htm)

Very nice. Other pics as well. Good job. Petty on the cropping of #9 and 10 (too tight IMO)

Thanks, Rene'
I appreciate your taking the time to look and comment.
When it comes to cropping, I have the same limitations as anyone else, I guess. We sell CDs of images and let the buyers make their own prints. So I keep the ratio to 3:2 so they can buy 4x6 prints. Sometimes I decide to crop out something distracting. And sometimes I'm just in the wrong place with the wrong lens.

Yea, those are very good picks. I think you did awesome given the lighting downfalls.
Thanks for sharing. I do like the one posted a lot.

Nice, Curtis! When I finally retire I hope to do a wider variety of Live Entertainment than just world class bands ... this theater genre looks like a lot of fun.

Thanks Queenbee, Dwight, Roanjohn, Dan & Cassie!
I should mention that my wife Becky took many of the shots on our website. We work together on these projects and usually manage to not get in each other's way.this theater genre looks like a lot of fun.It can be, especially if the costumes, makeup and scenery are interesting. Community & school theatre is not terribly profitable, but it's immensely rewarding. These people bust their humps for months to put a show together, not getting paid a dime. The looks on their faces are priceless when they see the pictures, and they are always very appreciative that someone has managed to capture their moment in the spotlight and make the images available at an affordable price.

I love the lighting in these, Curtis. It has a very definite theater look and you captured some great moments.

Thanks, Maureen! It certainly is a challenging environment to shoot in, but we get a little better with each gig.
