So you've got them composed just as you want them; and snap, should be the best shot you've ever taken. Can't win 'em all :D :D :D

I was able to see the image OK after duping the layer 5 times with the visibility mode from normal to screen and opacity to 100%

Yeah, ETTL can be a real problem like that.

Hope you got it in the end...

You have to learn to watch your histogram really closely, most people have been burned by this I think. Be especially careful with glass or metal in the background.

Mick,

Tell me you shot this in RAW ?

If so, all is not lost, and you bang the exposure up a notch and probably save yourself.

I shot my first wedding this past weekend, and hate to say it, but I've had to make quite a few adjustments.(Thank you Canon RAW)

First lesson learned, pay more attention to the Histogram. (like Tim has said.)

Just to make you feel less alone... here's one of my images from the last wedding... just accidently hit the MF switch on the lens... good thing I caught it. :D

One place I shoot has mirrors all around. I have to make sure I'm at an angle or I'll get exactly that result. Sometimes I think I'll try manual flash just for a change.:)
