Awesome shot, other than I'm gonna be the odd one. I think the photo would be better with the steps cropped out and made into a square picture. To me the stairs make the picture too busy and it draws my attention off the main subject. Try it and see if you like it better or not. I agree, the palm tree does well compliment the main subject. It is a really cool capture otherwise.

I think that without the stairs, the plam tree wouldn't have the same effect. Really neat picture.
