Just come back from a weekend away. The beach at Woolacombe is beautiful, this was the only bit of rubbish I came accross to spoil the otherwise perfect beach.

Taken with a 300d and Peleng 8mm fishy.

I love the composition but there are some things I don't understand:

1. Why are the corners all black and why is it the shape of the lens is vbisible in the picture?

2. You have some lens flare in the lower right corner and it's bothersome.

Hi Suedezu,

thanks for your comments.

As the 300d isn't a full frame slr (1.6 crop i believe) you get a slightly cropped image when using the peleng 8mm fisheye lens (I can't afford full frame slr and expensive fish eye lenses at the moment, still there is a chance i've won the big cash prise from the Reader Digest this month I got a letter telling me all about it and that I have made it through to the semi finals. LOL

2. As the lens is very wide with no way of shielding it from the sun it can be difficult to avoid a bit of flare when shooting on a sunny day. Especially when laying down in the sand on a windy day trying the get the shot and stop as much sand as possible from getting into the camera. :-)

I could probably get rid of the flare with some PP but my skills with PS CS2 are limited to the use of the "auto levels" button at the moment.

If anyone would like to have a play around with the image feel free, just tell me how you did it please.

Regards.

Hope you didn't mind a little fiddle.

Crop.
Unsharp mask.
Levels.
Healing tool.

It's how I would have preferred it, must admit, I'm sooooo gonna get one of those Pelengs (Note to self: must tell wife it's essential and cost just £22.99 ! :) )

Very nice Matty. I'm going to have to sit down and really start playing around with PS, I love the framing and filling out in the corners, makes it look so much better. Thanks.

I've had so much fun with the fish eye so far, If i can learn what you've done with the picture I think it will become my favorite lens!

Stark, really that is very basic P'shopping. Won't take long to learn at all. Just buy a few digital Photo mags they have loads of DVD tutorials, then you'll be on ya way.

The framing is Mikes £5 script add-on and sorta works straight out of the box as it were.
