Hello all.
Yesterday evening, my Canon 10D finally arrived with its companion 28-135 IS USM and haze filter. : ) I felt like a kid during Christmas time, and carefully unpacked everything and just drooled for a while waiting for the battery to charge. I'm almost afraid to touch the thing... heh.
I took a few test shots around the apartment last night and was quite pleased with the results. I had it tripod mounted (and I forgot to turn off IS), but even then, the resulting images looked rather good after a little sharpening in Elements.
I've previously had an old Kodak and Canon A60, and had decided that I wanted to get somewhat serious with taking photos. I'm not that good as of yet, but the wonderful aspect of this is that I am now able to "play" and learn the more technical and creative aspects of photography with it.
I've always been a huge fan of macro photography, and at least the 10D affords one the opportunity of interchangable lenses, and true macro capability, as well as the larger resolution that the 10D is capable of so larger prints are possible and better looking.
Going to take the camera out into the backyard later this morning and give it a good test... hopefully I'll be able to snag something worthy of posting here today. : )
Now all I need to do is save up for a good backpack bag and good macro lens... and keep reading here, and find inspiration and ideas from all of your posts and images.
Hope to have a few good shots later. ; )
