I was at the beach yesterday with my kids to shoot some pics of them horsing around the water. They were wearing white shirts with blue jean shorts. I only mention this as I'm not sure if this may have been part of the cause of the problem. Anyway, while shooting in P mode on my d60 (iso 100) I could not for the life of me get the lense to lock-on focus (sigma lense 28- 70).
When I switched over to portrait mode, BAM, instint lock, no roaming.
What's up with that, is this normal or does this sound like a problem with the camera? Your feedback would be appreciated.
As an after-thought, if the camera was in AI servo (which I can't remember) could this cause this type of problem. Personally I almost think it would.
Rob
btw: I've only had the camera for 2 weeks but previously owned a cheap Canon rebel which I used almost exclusively in 'P' mode and don't ever remember a similar problem.
