This is the last thread I'll post with photos from over last weekend, as I want to get out and shoot some more with the new lens I got yesterday (50mm f/1.8). If anyone is interested all the others from the weekend are up under the various artist names at http://www.livemphotography.com. By the way - all the sets of photos I post are generally shot by both myself and my partner Frances. We share a passion not to mention the camera and equipment! Again these are shot with the Canon 350D and the EF 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM, mostly using ISO 1600 and aperture priority with the lens being close to wide open.

Schvendes are a dark, moody rock band, and they are photographed here at night playing out in the open in the beer garden at the rosemount hotel as part of the WAMI festival. The lighting wasn't great, just a couple of small flood lights and a spotty or two. There was a fair bit of room to move around however and compose shots from various angles. The band remain reasonably still on stage, not to much crazy dancing or jumping around.

Again C+C very much welcomed.

Well, without fog and stage lights these are pretty tame. Never saw a guitar played with a bow before. Shots with mouth covered by microphone and those with head stock cropped aren't optimal. Images still seem a bit too small for old eyes.

Well, maybe it is Warren Buffet that I heard of! I think that once things have settled down a bit in our lives that I will come down there and go shooting with you! And on the "up side" I now know a lot more performers than I did a year ago ... you can see them on my website.

I saw what I believe was Led Zeppelin's last performance at Madison Square Garden in 1977...

Regardless of your skills as a photographer, my respect for you just went through the roof. That is insane.

Next you'll be telling me you watched Jimi Hendrix burn his guitar at the montery pop festival.
