Hi--
I'm learning how to use an ST-E2. While I'm far from mastering it, I've seen enough to understand how powerful getting your flash off the camera is. Here are two cat and dog shots with the ST-E2 and a Canon 550EX. The flash was mounted on a tripod to the left of the camera. For the cat shot, I bounced it off the ceiling. For the dog shot, it's pointed directly at Murphy from two or three feet above him. It's got a Stofen diffuser.
Thought this might help anyone who's wondering whether an ST-E2 or some other method of getting the flash off camera is worth it.
