Great shot! I totally wish I live in a place where there is no winter and snow :cry:

Is that Keanu Reeves in Point break? :D This guy looks so much like him.

:cool::cool: ... really pity it's that heavy !!! your samples are really convincing ;) ..

I love dogs too .. but for dog shows I have to carry 3 lenses and 2 bodies for 6 to 8 hours .. so I am looking now to replace my 300L2.8nonIS with a 200L2.0 .. just waiting a few more months if Canon will use their new patent with a 200L2.0ISDO for less than 2.0kg ..

I understand how heavy the lens i only then I carried it in the bag all the day (oh my shoulders), but shooting for hour and less it is no problems (for my biceps :D),...will try in ice hockey also - for that reason already bought monopod.

Isn`t the 300mm F2.8 almost the same weight as 200mm F2.0?

don't use mine enough Butch but when I do and review the images at home it always brings a smile to my face it just separates the background so well

I have a sharp copy of a 70-200mm IS F2.8 which I like a lot and its so much lighter but it just cannot do what the F1.8 can end of story

the only other Lens that brought a big grin was my brothers 85 L which has insane light gathering capabilities and I was gutted when he sold it LOL

I want to mak a poll about accessories used togeather with this "light pump prime" to share interest, information and help others now and in future.
So here is a list of accesories / what ownining / +/- & question of interest.

Drop-in filter: gelatin filter holder (there are three different out there - gelatin filter holder, screw filter holder (48mm UV, ND) and PL-C (with external wheel gear). my question: is the drop-in filter a part of an lights scheme and affects image quality-different info on www?);
Lense cover: none so far (looking for rain cover);
Lense cap: DON ZECK (didn`t like the default leather cap/hood cover that takes more time to get ready to shoot);
Lens plate: default so far (would like to own something like Kirk LP-53 (for easy carrying), but not available);
Bag: Think Thank Glass Taxi (fits pro body+lens with hood in position ready to shoot);
Monopod: Manfrotto 679B (not expensive, load capacity to 10 kg, maximum height 157 cm, 0.7 kg);
Extension tubes: none so far;
Tele converter: none so far (readed that quality with 1.4x is even slightly better than 300mm 2.8 without, no idea how about 2.0x);
Tripod and head: none so far.

C&C welcome

^ Here's my "accessories poll" related to the LIGHT PUMP PRIME (200 1.8L), uljens...

Drop-in Filter: I have the Canon 48mm drop-in CPL. Works like a charm. About 1-stop of light reduction. Link: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/12319-REG/Canon_2582A002_48mm_Drop_in_Holder_with.html
Lens Cover: No lens cover. But if I want to purchase one, it would be through lenscoat.com website. Link: http://www.lenscoat.com/lenscoatreg-canon-p-265.html
Lens Cap: I purchased an XXXL black neoprene cover from lenscoat.com. Link: http://www.lenscoat.com/lenscoatreg-hoodiereg-large-p-387.html
Lens Plate: I did replace my foot plate with an RRS version. Link: http://reallyrightstuff.com/ProductDesc.aspx?code=LCF-40&type=0&eq=&desc=LCF-40%3a-Foot-for-Canon-200mm%2ff1.8&key=it
Bag: I store mine in a Domke F-804 Super Sachel Messenger Bag, with my 300 2.8L lens. Sample picture below:

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7064/6774220412_fbf65d6fd8_b.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/airbutchie/6774220412/)

Monopod: I have a Manfrotto 680B that I use with this lens. Link: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/5535-REG/Manfrotto_680B_680B_Compact_Monopod_Black.html
Extension Tubes: I've used my Kenko Tubes with this glass with no issues whatsoever. It takes them easily. Sample picture below with 36mm and 12mm (stacked):

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7132/7006306877_11d1b8d17d_b.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/airbutchie/7006306877/)

Teleconverters (TCons): This glass has no problem taking both 1.4x and 2x TCons. I currently use Kenko Pro 300 DGX versions. Miminal IQ loss, even when shooting wide open. Stopped down, though, yields better results. Here are two surfing examples below; 1.4x and 2x, respectively:

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7167/6652965511_9ccf90cf9b_b.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/airbutchie/6652965511/)

Tripod/Head Unit: I currently use a Gitzo 3530SLV carbon fiber legs and my ball head unit is a Really Right Stuff BH-55 unit. Both are strong and sturdy to hold the camera and lens with ease.

Hope this info helps!!! :D

Wow, I honestly have yet to see bad contributions from this glass.. I would love to own it but I just wouldn't be able to justify dropping $3k+ and have it possibly break and not having any reliability :shock: But seriously, all these images are dope!

Keep them coming guys! There's one for sale locally, luckily I'm broke or else I'd be in a fist fight with myself for getting this lens :)

butch: yes, theye were representing "SICO Condoms", thats why added "Run & Treat" :D (we have marathon dicsipline in 5km where parents run together with childrens even in carts, companies run together representing them selves, there were some Batmans, Chuck Noris etc)
