Hi. Tried out the panoramic mode today. What do you think. Does the colour and composition work?

Martin.

its a beautiful picture
those lovely houses off centre in the scene remind me of a lowry painting.

*a little bit over saturated with colour.
(I think)
?

still thinking
if cropped on the left it shows those houses even better.
up to where the tall (see the red) buildings are, under the green hill.
that lovely scene on the left makes a beautiful picture in itself
as does the other.....to the right
seperate the two almost 'right down the middle'
and they make two different beauties
(I expect the whole idea of the panoramic shot would be lost then and .......
I have lost the plot )

but
regardless

its a beautiful picture and scene overall

marie

Thanks Marie for liking so much. I do agree that the saturation is perhaps slightly over done. This was actually a mistake, but one that I stuck with as I liked the richness of the colours a lot as it kind of gave it an almost sureal or 'model' look. I also agree that with the right cropping I could get 2 very nice photos out of it but I kept with this panoramic approach as I liked the contrast between the hills and greenery in the left half, and the city and buildings on the right. :)

Regards
Martin.

I know I just saw this the other day and commented on it but I'll comment again,
beautiful pano. I would hang this on my wall.

I agree with Colin, Martin, this is fantastic and a wall hanger. This is Edinburgh isn't it?

I agree with the others... I like this a lot. I disagree about the oversaturation though. I think the colors add a great deal to this. I'm not sure if its the colors, but it almost looks like a model.

Wonderful, i do miss that view ;-)

Yes indeed Pappy this is Edinburgh, the only comment I would have is that maybe the panorama should have continued a bit further to the right to include the castle. The architecture i that part of the town is perfect for photographing imho.
